I’ve been away from posting to micro.blog for a while. I was reading through my older posts and saw that I wrote a post about using Dropbox Paper to take my work notes. Last year, I discovered Roam Research and have been using it exclusively to take my work notes. I wish I was using it for more creative projects, but I don’t.

I start of each day by entering [[Work Log]] and then whatever meetings, people, or projects I have that day, I indent them one level under [[Work Log]] and take my notes. Having backlinks has really come in handy mostly when working on projects when I’m trying to find out what we decided on for a particular project. I am able to click on or search through my backlinks to get to what I need.

The only downside of Roam Research is that it is expensive. Especially given I only mostly use it to take work notes. I’m exploring Obsidian, which I know will work. I just absolutely love the user experience in Roam Research.
